Lefteris Gounaridis obtained his Degree in Physics from the University of Athens in 2010. He is with the Photonics Communication Research Laboratory since 2013 working on the design of high performance components and structures for photonic based bio-sensing circuits on various material platforms at near infrared wavelengths. His research activities are centered on the designing of the Multimode Interference (MMI) and Grating couplers. His current research interests are also in Digital Signal Processing and more specifically in the delay estimation between signals by using Fast and Discrete Fourier transform and he is working in the FP7 ICT-BIOFOS project. He is an excellent English language speaker.
